Unit 10 consistently produces Boone and Crockett and Pope and Young record book elk and usually produces at least one or more 400-inch bulls every year as well. The current Pope & Young world record elk (typical) came out of Arizona Unit 10 and was produced by us here at Arizona Elk Outfitters LLC. We feel that an Arizona elk hunter’s best opportunity to harvest a unit 10 trophy bull elk would come by applying for and drawing either the early season unit 10 archery elk hunt in the rut or the unit 10 early season rifle elk hunt in the rut. The elk is in a full rut during these 2 hunts and this time period is when the biggest bulls in the unit are the most visible and therefore most vulnerable to hunting. These trophy elk hunts in the rut are the best time to focus on trying to harvest a world-class Arizona bull elk in Unit 10. Interested Arizona elk hunters can also apply for the late season elk hunts in Unit 10 if they do not have enough Arizona elk bonus points built up to draw one of the highly sought after rut season elk tags in Arizona Unit 10. Keep in mind though that these late-season archery elk hunts and late season rifle elk hunts in Unit 10 are much more difficult hunts.

The late-season rifle and archery elk hunts in unit 10 do not have a nearly as high potential for trophy elk as the early hunts but, you still have the chance of harvesting a great bull elk on these late hunts with plenty of hard work being done before your hunt and a little bit of luck on your side. The late-season archery elk hunts and late season rifle elk hunts in Arizona unit 10 also offer the non-resident elk hunter much better tag drawing odds. Unit 10 is a very huntable elk unit due to the fact that this unit is interspersed with a lot of hills rolling hills, broken ridge country, and lots of knobs that make excellent glassing points from which to scout and hunt trophy Arizona elk from. Arizona’s Unit 10 also has plenty of flat, jungle thick juniper country that provides trophy elk with an ocean of thick cover in which to hide and grow record-breaking size antlers in. This unit has all the right ingredients for growing giant bulls and unit 10 should always be very high on your list of the best Arizona units to apply for elk in.
